We pride ourselves on accommodating and customizing events of all types. In addition to off-site catering, both restaurants have on-site availability for breakfast, lunch and dinners. We can accommodate pharmaceutical functions, brunches, luncheons, showers and more. Regardless of type of cuisine or style of function, Moro’s Events is the choice to make your day memorable.
All of our events come with the specialized touch of our onsite Events Coordinator, James Hares. James is Food & Beverage professional with 20 years of experience. He also has extensive experience with nutrition and will work with any dietary needs such as gluten free, vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Along with our chefs, James will customize and design your event to meet your specific needs. We will partner with you to bring the vision of your event to life and will create a reception with bar services, beautifully presented hors d’oeuvres, exquisitely prepared dinner, cake cutting and dessert with coffee services. There are many stereotypes about Italian grandmothers, and happily most of them are true! We were blessed to be raised with two Italian grandmothers both named Elizabeth, who doted on, loved, and of course, cooked wonderful food for their grandchildren.
It is said that when a child is born a grandmother is made. It has been a joy to watch our four boys develop strong and special bonds with their grandmothers and experience the Italian American culture passed down to a new generation.
"I always loved to cook. As soon as I could, I started a 5-year apprenticeship with Chef Heinz Hautle at the Hotel Hershey. The work was challenging and I had to put in very long hours. To pass the time, I would imagine someday owning my own restaurant. I envisioned a small and intimate space that would enable me to cook with quality products, come out of the kitchen and get to know my guests.
I worked my way through some of the most beautiful places in the country, including California's Napa Valley and the Oregon wine country. Over 10 years, I felt ready to take on the role as Executive Chef at a new spa and resort nearby. I was immediately drawn to the spectacular scenery of the Finger Lakes region. I remember sitting by the lake sipping coffee when my thoughts of opening my own restaurant were rekindled. I knew I found the perfect location to put down roots. I met my future wife, Elizabeth while opening the resort and we decided to make Skaneateles our home and we are raising our four young boys there. Together, we are excited to run our own restaurants, Moro's Table and Moro's Kitchen, and hope to create a place where people feel welcomed and can enjoy a good glass of wine, great food and friendly conversation."
